The world is irrevocably changing, gentlemen, more precisely, the SARS-CoV2 virus has forever changed it, Mk Israel writes.

The article is about the red threat of the COVID-19 pandemic could change the political landscape of the European Union so dramatically that the British exit may seem like a child's innocent game.

In Brussels on April 6, the political establishment of a united Europe must decide on the issue of Eurobonds: bond issuance is an ultimatum of Italy, Spain and a number of EU countries, whose national economies can be torn to pieces by the pandemic against the background of the fact that throughout March of the European Institute they tried not to notice an avalanche of problems.

The history of the formation of the European Union began in 1951 with the European Union of Coal and Steel, a very young one - not much younger than the statehood of Israel. But at the same time, the level of chaos and disintegration of the EU today, as the new type of pandemic of diseases has shown, has highlighted the unimaginable abyss of the problems of a single European policy.

The European security strategy, which in many details coincides with the NATO security concept, is absolutely not ready to resist the viral pandemic. Zero resistance is half the problem.  The second half is that the politicians of a united Europe took a break at a time when all EU-27 countries were waiting for an adequate reaction.

Perhaps, in the European Union the situation around the pandemic is the most difficult today - more complicated than it was in China, more complicated than in the USA.  More complicated than in Israel and even in its neighbouring Arab states.

After the online summit of EU politicians, on March 26, Italy, Spain, France and another 6 countries in the EU-27 set an ultimatum to Brussels, demanding the issuance of common bonds of the eurozone countries. Emission will mitigate the crisis of national economies during the pandemic. Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte made a condition for European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen: a decision on the issue of Eurobonds should be made before April 6.  Most likely, it will be adopted in one form or another.

United Europe, created after the victory over the Nazis according to the American Marshall Plan, recently bitterly survived the British exit, almost lost Catalonia, which required autonomy, and can now lose Italy. Processes such as an avalanche in the Alps. The inertia of decay will reach even the submissive and western-oriented Poland and the three small Baltic republics.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has long and consistently boycotted many of Brussels’s directives, and now Orban is accused of taking over the dictator’s powers during the pandemic.

The pandemic is splitting Europe because of the huge inertia and weakened effectiveness of the policies of the ruling party of the 'Christian Democrats' and its coalition parties to them politicians. Of course, a democratic and ready for civilized compromise and dialogue about humanistic values, politics has refuted all its previous achievements in just one last month.

The pandemic problem has proved that many of the challenges and goals of security and the common development of the eurozone existed exclusively artificially. Unfortunately, only against the backdrop of a global pandemic, when in Italy the death rate from a new type of virus amounted to almost a thousand people a day, European politicians chose to hide under the carapace of their own egoism, leaving the Italians, and now the Spaniards, to suffer, get sick and die.

Help came from Russia - in the end, the Russians always adored Italy.  At the end of March, Russia, at the request of Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, sent 14 IL-76 Aerospace Forces transport planes with trucks and equipment to Italy. There 100 Russian doctors in the field of virology and epidemiology, 8 medical and nursing teams from Russia are now working in boarding houses in Lombardy - not at home in Siberia, no! Cuba also sent a medical team of 52 specialists to the EU. China sends medical equipment to any country in Europe, however, Huawei, after the words of EU High Representative for Foreign Policy Josep Borrel, “cheap PR”, refused further humanitarian assistance to Europeans.

'This is crazy. Europe takes another 15 days to decide what to do and to whom and how to help, if to help. In extreme conditions, when people die today from pneumonia, and tomorrow they will probably die from poverty,' -  previously said the leader of the Liga party and former Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini.

Who is next? Spain, Portugal, Hungary? As the situation with Italy has shown, the mainstream party is the European People’s Party, and these are basically the same German CDUs, now it is scared and not capable of adequate practical assistance to the neighbouring EU country.

Never in its history has Italy been so close to secession from the European Union as it is today. If European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Parliament President David Maria Sassoli and European Council President Charles Michel showed responsibility and solidarity with Italy in

Italy in early March, at the first stage of the epidemic in Milan, thousands of Europeans could survive. People die not only because of a lack of antibiotics and ventilators, people die because politicians in Brussels are amorphous and ineffective populists.

The coronavirus pandemic revealed the abyss into which European centralised politics is falling. Any crisis reveals cowards and egoists. The Czech Republic stole part of the humanitarian aid masks that China sent to Italy. Poland did not miss Russian planes with doctors over its air territory. This looked like a more negative deed of Warsaw than the refusal of President Andrzej Duda to visit Israel in memory of the victims of the Holocaust.  Cover your mouths with masks, gentlemen, Polish nationalists and European 'Christian democrats', in which there is no Christianity or democracy.

In March, US Democratic Party-controlled media resources attempted to discount the actions of Russian doctors.  For example, the agency Bloomberg reported that 'Russian assistance is not free.' La Stampa, a Turin-affiliated newspaper in Turin, spread the fake that '80% of Russian medical care in Italy is unnecessary.' The editor of the newspaper Maurizio Molinari did not even apologise for publishing the fake news, as did Josep Barrel, an arrogant European official whose words and actions pushed away the Chinese helping hand extended to Europe in a social and humanitarian disaster.

At a time when EU countries with weak democracies, offset by Cold War propaganda, are trying to discount the giving hand, a trend of mutual assistance is picking up in the world. Doctors from the United States in February, under the mandate of the World Health Organisation, worked in China. At the end of March, a Russian transport plane arrived with medical aid in the United States, this issue of support was agreed upon by Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.

Now is the time that the Russian proverb says, 'a friend is in need.' Let it be so!  What else to do?
